Originally our farm started in the late 90's with my husband purchasing me a little Boer X Buck for my birhtday to start our new hobby. I had the task of finding so girls that was 4
We own a great undulating property just outside of Lowood which is suited for goats lightly timbered with a great view over the valley towards the
We started with about Eight Anglo Nubian Does which we used in our breeding program with the Boer Buck. With this combination we produced some great kids. We decided to keep one buck big solid Mottled Boer X Anglo Nubian "Apollo". With this combination we produced some fantastic meat goats beautiful mottled colors, long ears, (not that this made the meat any different to eat) but they looked pretty.
In the beginning of 2006 we decided that we would cut back on our Boer X Anglo Nubian and increase our Anglo Nubians, so ‘HURRAH’ Anglo Nubian Stud started to take off. We purchased a beautiful Buck from Lima Stud. A few does from Brandie Stud & Shamrock Glen. So with 25 Does our Stud was in full swing. Although I was unable to part with all my Boer X’s, I still keep a small meat herd of 10 Does.
With 2007 we received full CAE Accreditation and the show season started, things got a bit hectic. We had kids everywhere, so I dragged a few to the local Ag Shows (and proud to say did quite alright). Most of the kids went to the
Also in the same year we had the pleasure of purchasing some Flesser Farm, Lima, Tinderry, Cartref Does and an Aremooc Doe including a Flesser Farm Buck.
Then 2008 saw 'HURRAH' with a beautiful aray of kids again. With some kids going to Thailand to help with their breeding programs and many adults Does as well. My showing season was cut short due to me kidding for the first time. In 2009 you will see me dragging a 2 legged kid and 4 Legged kids to shows. Kid & Goatling was our first show for the year. 'HURRAH' Nya received Reserve Champion Doe Kid pretty good for her first show.
Kids will be due hopefully in September
